South American style BBQ festival in Toronto this fall

Toronto food events are usually derided for their endlessly long lineups. Many, such as the recent Mac and Cheese Festival, as well as the much-maligned grilled cheese and sushi festivals, left eager foodies reeling. Evergreen Brick Works, however, is promising "no lineups or drink tickets" at Asado, its South American-style BBQ fundraiser happening September 26.

Asado will bring 40 of the city's most notable chefs and restaurateurs - including Anthony Rose, Brad Long and Matty Matheson of Parts & Labour - together to grill up an all-you-can-eat feast filled with meats, fish and veggies. Muskoka Brewery is the event's presenting sponsor so you can expect its hoppy brews on tap along with an open bar that'll include wine and cocktails.

The $149 price tag may be steep, but after all, Asado is an Evergreen Brick Works fundraiser. While many of Toronto's food events have been busts, its food-based fundraisers, such as the Stop Night Market, are usually delicious and stress-free.
