Morning Brew: March 16, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Friday March 16th, 2007:

The TTC spells LRT. The Toronto Star, Spacing and the Globe all have the details about the proposed new $6 billion, 60-80 km worth of Light Rapid Transit. Next step: find the money to make it happen.

Below ground, the TTC also announced they've completed track repairs two weeks ahead of schedule. For you and me that means next chance to see Lower Bay will be in May.

The stuffy old Ontario Club, in limbo because of the Stinson/Mirvish feud over 1 King West finds a new home at, wait for it, 1 King West. The new digs will be on the 12th and 13th Floors, apparently in part of the building owned by a different landlord.

One Torontonian who won't be checking out the new club any time soon is Conrad Black. Jury selection in the former media baron's trial is now complete. Opening statements will be heard on Monday.
