Has Christmas come early? Newly ordained TTC commish Adam Giambrone is suggesting that fares will not be raised any time soon. I like this guy already.
Keep your eyes on the roads, people! 7 people have been injured in 6 separate car-pedestrian accidents in the last two days in the GTA. Another road note: a tractor trailer is causing havoc for west-end 401 commuters.
Auditor-General Jim McCarter has reported on a large excess of Ontario health cards and potential for fraud. Citing numbers for January 2006, as many as 300,000 more OHIP health cards were issued in Ontario than there were people.
After much turmoil (the Arar case) and inconsistent testimony and statements to the media, RCMP Commissioner Zaccardelli has resigned. Leading internal candidates are thought to be too much like "Zac-clones", which may force the RCMP to look outside of force for his replacement.
File under strange: apparently Santa can be naughty too. A UK department store has been forced to fire Santa for "inappropriate comments" he's been uttering to parents. And we wonder why kids sometimes cry when they visit him.
